Turku below the surface
5/10/2023 In August 2023, we gathered in Turku, Finland's oldest city. It was once the capital but history decided otherwise. Finland and its neighbours share history, and if you don't know that, you are amazed at the bilingualism of place names, the structure of the Lutheran church, the politics of today and the space felt and heard in Finnish art and culture. The big picture is coloured in, but the details remain personal. In Helsinki, after the EBW, I saw a special exhibition where holograms were also projected in all sorts of ways. This is one of them. And I found it characteristic of what is currently going on in Finland: processes taking place under the surface, which you can get a view of in very different ways as your own position moves. Isn't that the same in bibliodrama? The text seems to consist of some letters on paper, the translation may vary but for the outsider the words are solid and certain. For those who dare to explore other positions in relation to the story discover beneath the surface a multiplicity of persons, emotions, stories, the mix of context in culture and ethics. And through it the light of Love. How do you look at those stories that, as holograms, invite us to see beyond what is visible to the naked eye? Tineke Dronkert |
God's name on our lips in every breath we take
2/10/2023 Breathe in and out... Breathe consciously, without changing anything about the way you breathe. Concentrate on exhaling. Let go. Give sound to that letting go. Concentrate on the brief moment between breathing in and out, that little pause, that moment of turning around.... Concentrate on breathing in, from your belly into your whole body. Accept...breathe...m edit. There is the very first breath, when you are born, and there is the last breath you take when you die.... God is said to be RUAH, ADEM. In and out... Not a storm wind but a gentle breeze. In and out... That He/She is the spirit, the breath that moves back and forth, forwards and backwards, in and out.... JAH- is IN, --WEH is OUT.... YAH-WEH YAH-WEH YAH-WEH.... God's name on our lips in every breath we take.... (excerpt bodywork EBW Turku group 3) Anne Coussement |
